Grape varieties: Jaen, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Nacional.
Vinification: Pretexto red was fermented in stainless steel tanks with 30% whole bunches, followed by a 30-day cuvaison. The Jaen, Alfrocheiro and Tinta Roriz grape varieties were co-fermented, as well as Jaen and Touriga Nacional. The final blend was aged in French oak vats (5000 litres) and barrels for 11 months. Naturally stabilised.
Tasting Notes: Bright red open colour. Very expressive red fruit, with cherry predominating. The palate is fruit-driven, with good acidity and a fresh, vegetal character. Present but soft tannins and good length at the end of the mouth. It’s an elegant wine with the typical freshness of the Dão.
Recommendation: Serve at 16ºC.
Food pairing: Goes well with red meat dishes.
