Bairrada wines are the most gastronomic wines in Portugal, perfect for intense meat dishes. In this Atlantic region with limestone soil, the wines from the Baga grape variety are well known and need time in the bottle to reach their splendor and master the acidity and the impetuous tannins. Some producers have recently started to produce Baga with little color and tannin extraction, which allows them to have wines on the market new and ready to be consumed without harming the quality.
