LBV has very lively and complex aromas, with a ripe finish, black plum, spicy and herbs. It has good concentration without very full-bodied and fresh tannins, providing length and depth to the port. Thanks to the year and good acidity, two opposing flavours of maturity and concentration are well integrated with freshness and balance.

Vinification:
The LBVs are matured in large wooden barrels called “tonnes” in our own lodge for 4-6 years, until they are ready for bottling. The 2008 LBV was bottled in July 2012. Unlike most port transporters, all products are stored and bottled in the Douro (in La Rosa and not in Porto), allowing full traceability and guaranteeing quality from grape to bottle.

This port has not been filtered and may release a light sediment, but should not require decanting.
