Pedra a Pedra Branco is a refreshing, aromatic and textured white wine from the Douro made from a blend of native grape varieties from the highest parts of our vineyards.
|Grapes||Gouveio (62%) Rabigato (38%)|
|Winemaker||João Pires & Matt Gant|
Once the grapes are harvested, our main objective is to preserve the fresh aromas and flavors through gentle handling of the grapes, keeping the fruit and its juice as fresh as possible. Harvested first thing in the morning, the grapes are picked and pressed whole and the must is drained immediately. The juice is then fermented by indigenous yeasts at 15ºC so that the wine retains its original aromas and flavors. During the process, minimal handling and attention to detail ensure that the delicate aromas are not compromised. After fermentation, this wine aged for 8 months on fine lees before being bottled. Each grape variety brings unique attributes to the final blend. Rabigato brings citrus fruits and marked acidity, while Gouveio brings a pleasant weight to the palate with flavors of passion fruit and pineapple. Once uniformed, the wine was bottled in May 2021.
