Very Old Port. A tawny color with a yellow rim signifying an advanced stage of maturity. This is the genuine color of a 20-year-old wine in barrel. It has a warm red color with a slight orange tinge at the bottom of the cup. A lively aroma with a velvety texture. Fruit aromas: grapefruit, apricot, almond, hazelnut and cocoa. Wood aromas: vanilla, old barrels of port wine and phenol. Roasted aromas: cinnamon, caramel, coffee. Ethereal aromas: stearin and iodine. Smooth and dry in the mouth, complemented by a rich and generous persistence of flavor. A fine and delicious attack. The elegance of the first contact with the palate is maintained through a complex sequence of ripe and dried fruits and nuts in a fresh and licorice harmony.

Vinification:
Made from a selection of several plots from one of the oldest vineyards in the Douro region, Quinta do Bom Retiro. It is a wine created from many different blends. Wines are easy to pair when young, but as they age, the pairing process becomes more difficult. Greater knowledge and fine-tuning is required on both sides so that, over time, a perfect and lasting harmony is achieved. Made from Quinta de Bom Retiro wines, it is a blend with an average age of 20 years, an adult and a sophisticated tawny.
Castes:
Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinto Cão
